New Expanded Options For The Visually Impaired

Effective Wednesday, June 11, 2014, Advanced Family Eyecare and Dr. Jamie Gallagher will enhance our current low vision services by providing not only low vision evaluations but adding new expanded options for the visually impaired. Occupational Therapist, Meghan Rardin, from The Center For The Visually Impaired will be assisting Dr. Gallagher in the treatment and solutions for patients with low vision needs. The second Wednesday of each month will be dedicated to care and treatment of patients who can benefit from these services and products. After your thorough Low Vision Eye Health Exam to assess your visual challenges, Meghan will conduct an evaluation of all aspects of daily living to learn more about your specific vision challenges. We will assess if eyeglasses, magnifiers or other optical aids would be beneficial to improve your visual function. Meghan will provide education and training for devices, non-optical aids and simple strategies to maximize vision. We also provide information about community services and resources available to people with low vision including learning about support groups and services provided by CVI that may be beneficial to you. If you or someone you care about has challenges in their life with low vision please contact us for an appointment.
